Adult Lessons
My studio welcomes and celebrates adult learners! Singing and composing are rewarding and joyful pursuits at any age.
Adult learners have particular strengths, including:
Are you singing regularly with a local choir and want to improve your ensemble and solo singing? Are you a brand-new beginner who has always wanted to take lessons? Have you sung in the past and want to get back into singing? Do you dream of writing your own music but don't know where to begin? Are you an emerging or professional composer who wants feedback and mentorship on your work? Contact me to discuss your goals and set up a sample lesson. |
Lisa is a wonderful, empathetic, and relatable teacher who has helped me to improve the quality of my singing exponentially in only 5 months (so far). As an adult learner taking voice lessons for the first time, I continue to be amazed at the way Lisa is able to listen and pinpoint very specific and doable things I can work on in a given week in order to see progress. Since starting lessons with Lisa, the range of notes I can sing comfortably has grown by nearly an octave, and I am able to understand and use breath support far, far better now than ever before. Lisa also does a fantastic job of teaching the expressive/emotional/storytelling side of singing in a way that has been very rewarding for me. I absolutely recommend her! --Jessica, adult student |
The Artists' CircleAdult students in my studio meet virtually once a month in the Artists' Circle to explore and share about the journey of being a musical artist. It is a trusting, kind-hearted community which will explore challenges such as perfectionism, gatekeepers, and fears, and ways to cultivate joy, creative flow, tap into our communicative instincts, and develop our unique artistic voices.
I can tell you from experience: mentorship matters. My path as an artist has been shaped by wonderful mentors who were sounding boards, guides, and inspirations to me along the way, who supported me in my struggles and doubts and who summoned me to become my most authentic human and artistic self. I’m delighted to pour my passion for mentorship into the Artists’ Circle. |
I have learned so much from Lisa Neher! She can relate to my beginner voice needs easily, practicing an innate sense of what methods work best for me. My voice has improved so much in a short period of time. --Alethea, adult college student
